This data set was collected to create a comprehensive platform to visualize SWP owned land. The parcels were created from record parcel information displayed on Department CAD maps known as “Property Management Maps”. This CAD data was then converted to a compatible GIS source and imported as parcels. Each parcel displays the pertinent information regarding the Departments ownership rights and the time that it was acquired or granted. This data set was created to improve the efficiently of accessing and organize the departments land records.

All features were created from static CAD maps and using coordinate geometry to digitize legal descriptions into parcels. Every effort was made to ensue the completeness of the records. However, features we certainly missed. Missing features will be added to the dataset as they become apparent.
All features were created with topological consistency and minimization of gaps and overlaps between features in mind. Due to the ambiguity of land descriptions and varying accuracies of measurement technology over time parcels are presented to best graphically show their representation and intent.
Locational Quality: Determined to be no better than 5 meters horizontal. This report is not being made by a licensed land surveyor, and is not analogous to a positional accuracy statement as stipulated in the California Public Resources Code. All features were created with topological consistency and minimization of gaps and overlaps between features in mind. Due to the ambiguity of land descriptions and varying accuracies of measurement technology over time parcels are presented to best graphically show their representation and intent. This data set was created to improve the efficiently of being accessing and organize the departments land records.
