Service Description: Field Survey Operations
The field survey included refresh of eighteen (18) aerial targets established for the 2017
project and twenty-one (21) new aerial targets. In addition, nineteen (19) QA/QC points were established within the LiDAR portion of the project. The aerial targets and QA/QC points were processed using four CGPS stations in the vicinity of Study Area.
Details on the Field Survey Operations are presented in the Survey Task Order Report dated September 23, 2019.
Horizontal and Vertical Datums
The horizontal datum used for this project is the North American Datum of 1983 (NSRS2007). Coordinates shown are California Coordinate System Zone 2 (CCS2). Units are U.S. Survey Feet. Elevations established in this survey are North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) as derived from applying Geoid 12B to ellipsoid heights.
Airborne Data Acquisition
The airborne LiDAR mission was performed on Thursday, July 25, 2019. The sensor used to collect the data is a Teladyne/Optech Galaxy PRIME and the laser was set to emit 10 points per square meter (10 PPM^2). The LiDAR strips were processed and calibrated using Optech’s LMS software suite and data from the CGPS stations identified in Survey Report. The LiDAR strips were tiled and classified for bare-earth using TerraScan software.
The airborne imagery missions were performed separately from the LiDAR mission. We used an UltraCAM Eagle Mark 2 large format digital camera. Imagery was acquired on July 24, July 26, and August 2, 2019 using a ground sample distance of 0.21ft.
LiDAR Derived Deliverables
The georeferenced point cloud data was classified to bare-earth and then model key-points were created. The model key-points were used to develop TIN surfaces in two formats: MicroStation InRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Additionally, raster DEM surface with a one-foot cell size were generated from bare-earth point class.
